Pianist Mi Kyung KIM is presently focused as the most prospective new generation performer equipped with characteristic musical expression. She began her first piano lesson at the age of five. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Seoul National University, Master of Music from The Julliard School of Music, Professional Studies from The Mannes College of Music, and Doctor of Arts from New York University. She made her debut at New York by winning The Grand Prize in Artists International Competition. She has had recitals at Paul Hall (Lincoln Center, New York), Carnegie Hall (New York), Merkin Hall (New York), Baliko Tarnova Hall (Sofia, Bulgaria), Smetana Hall (Praha, Czech Republic), Grand Music Hall (Beijing, China), Nagoya Museum (Kyushu, Japan) and Shogetsu Hall (Tokyo, Japan) etc. Also, she was invited to perform many solo concerts with numerous orchestras all over the world such as , Gloria Chamber Orchestra at New York, SNUNY Orchestra at New York , Moscow National Broadcast Symphony Orchestra at Moscow, Metropolitan Orchestra at New York, New York Symphony Orchestra at New York, Bulgaria National Broadcast Symphony Orchestra at Sofia, Vienna Mozart Orchestra at Vienna, Budapest Symphony Orchestra MAV at Budapest, Brno Philharmony Orchestra at Brno, Prague Symphony Orchestra at Prague, Janacek Philharmony Orchestra at St. Poelten, Austria and most of Korean Orchestras.

She was appointed as "the best new generation performer" by the Journal of Music in 1992. She was highly praised as "a rising star worth while to be remembered"by the Moscow News after her performing with Moscow State Broadcasting Orchestra in 1993.

Her recordings of piano solo and piano concerto works by Young Jo LEE(ASV), W.A. Mozart(Nimbus), Schumann(Sungeum), C. Currently, she is professor of the International Piano Academy Lake Como in Italy and she is invited regularily to important international piano competitions, such as Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Netherland, Moscow Chopin Junior International Piano Competition, Dortmund Schubert International Piano Competition, Piano concours international de Epinal in France and so on.
